Kitaro 8/29/1994

Review

On Mandala, his first record for Domo, Kitaro attempts to craft a new age-influenced rock opera with classical underpinnings. Familiar elements such as the spacy synthesizers are present, but an overpowering electric guitar grips the record and brings his music into a new realm. It's not always successful, but it's one of the most intriguing records Kitaro has released in years. ~ Rodney Batdorf
